Day 1: London to Bristol
Depart London to Stonehenge, the best known pre-historic monument in Europe. Explore this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander the picturesque streets and visit Lacock Abbey in Lacock. This rural village boasts a medieval atmosphere and has been used for many popular films and television series including Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and Downton Abbey.
Arrive in Bath and see the stunning Georgian architecture, relive Jane Austin’s novels or visit the beautiful Roman Baths (extra charge). Stop in Bristol, home to Clifton’s iconic suspension bridge, which offers stunning views of the Avon Gorge. This evening enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in Bristol. Overnight Bristol.
Day 2: Bristol to London (Breakfast included)
This morning travel to Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the prettiest villages in England. It is also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds due to the striking footbridges that cross the River Windrush.
Journey to Woodstock, a picturesque market town with many independent shops and home to Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Visit Churchill’s grave at the nearby St Martin’s Church. Explore the bustling university city of Oxford, also known as the “City of Dreaming Spires”. Follow in the footsteps of literary greats such as JRR Tolken, CS Lewis and Oscar Wilde, who once walked the cobbled streets.
