Day 1

Travel to hotel.

Arrive in North Wales. Why not visit the Roman City of Chester en-route?

Day 2

Bodnant Garden and Llandudno.

Bodnant Garden situated above the River Conwy on ground sloping towards the west and looking across the valley towards the Snowdonia range. See for yourself why Daily Telegraph readers voted it their ‘Favourite Garden in the Country’. Later, enjoy some free time in the Victorian resort of Llandudno. Stroll along the crescent promenade and elegant pier or take a ride on the tram or cable car up to the summit of Great Orme.

Day 3

Portmeirion and the Ffestiniog Railway.

Portmeirion is as much about the gardens as it is about Clough William-Ellis’ Italianate architecture. The formal village gardens are in the Italianate style and surround the village. Later, enjoy a journey on the Ffestiniog Railway, a unique narrow gauge railway. Take a nostalgic journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Day 4

Anglesey and Plas Newydd.

Anglesey is steeped in a rich archaeological and historical heritage (the majestic Beaumaris Castle is a must-see) and is home to picturesque villages and scenic bays. Plas Newydd has spectacular views of Snowdonia across the Menai Straits. The gardens include a fine spring garden and Australasian arboretum. The estate also holds the largest collection of Rex Whistler works and a Military Museum.
